The farmers in the Northwest keep up a long tradition of letting their horses roam around freely in the commons during the summer. In the autumn they will ride up into the mountains for the purpose of gathering up the flocks of horses, bringing them down to the valleys where they are sorted in special pens and each owner will bring the horses home. Those round-ups will annually attract hundreds of visitors, with three of them (links in the menu to the left) being by far the most popular.
